What exactly do you need Thunderbolt 3 for on a laptop? Yeah it’s throughput is cool but even Thunderbolt 3 doesn’t have the necessary bandwidth for a 1080ti or AMD’s RX Vega 64...and aside from wanting an external video card housing kit, there’s next to no reason for needing Thunderbolt 3...it adds licensing costs…

That just means they are subsidied by something else, likely the service contract is a huge rip, but they get away with danging this little tidbit. Theres a lot of consumers that get $.01 iphones too, doesn’t really make that the cost.
