Yeah, speaking of rural Nevada, I’ve been working in it for the past eight months. The nearest clinic to this town is 90 minutes away. The nearest in-state hospital is four hours (I think Bishop, CA has one, and is only a couple hours away). People die here because they simply cannot get medical care without taking a…
Meanwhile, a primarily rural state assembly seat is going to be won, overwhelmingly by a dead Republican pimp branding himself as a Trump clone instead of a Democratic woman running for the seat. And Heller gets to pretend he’s an “independent” and a “maverick” because he votes with Trump *only* 85% of the time.
Kind of wish his opponent, Sisolak, didn’t suck so much, but he’s still better than Laxalt.
When I was a kid, the tree scene in Poltergeist scared the shit out of me.
That cover freaked me out so much I took a pencil and ripped all the eyes out. That story is one of King’s freakiest. He really is a modern master of the short story in any form.
Sigh....
One time, I was dancing at this dive called The Jug with a woman named Linda Lou. Suddenly, bursting through the door was this pissed-off dude toting a gun, staring right at me...
They don’t give a shit about “protecting” anyone. This is about control and the enforcement of their version of Christian theocracy. There is no “educating” them - there is no hope at all save that they get old and die off while younger people ignore their bullshit.
I get those here in Nevada when we have high winds.
I still don’t understand how anyone could have watched yesterday’s hearing and come away thinking “I want this guy on the Supreme Court.”
I’m rooting for secession of the west coast plus Vegas and Reno.
“what the fuck is suing the police department going to solve? police departments and city governments already don’t have enough money, and who’s going to pay for that if they win (which they likely will with evidence like this)? the taxpayers. that aint fair.”
Came for this, was not disappointed.
They’d be capable of believing a woman’s story if it were levied against a Democratic nominee.
I saw about a dozen of them around a Starbucks in Las Vegas on Saturday, and was wondering what the hell they were. The three I got caught just turned into Dittos, though.
Agreed. I just think they’ll try to ram through an abortion ban ASAP, especially if it looks like the GOP is going to get beaten in the midterms.
Exactly. Everything leading up to this has been Republicans stacking the odds in order to get abortion banned, full stop. I guarantee if he gets confirmed, they have a bill ready to push through Congress to ban all abortions, knowing that the SC will rule in their favor.
It’s a misunderstanding because she forgot to plant evidence and call in a fake report. It’s sloppy work when it comes to the coverup that makes the police look bad.
Seriously, that is some Faulkner-level shit right there. I want him to write a book so I can blow off reading it like I blew off reading Faulkner in high school.
