I’m 100% with you. The irony here is that many of these same dealers and states who are getting screwed by needing a “wet signature” and struggling to sell cars in this environment are the exact organizations/states who fought Tesla’s dealer/distribution model tooth and nail. To them I say: Adapt or die. Fighting

yes, I hate that it takes 2 hrs to buy a car at a dealership including the mandatory office to upgrade and upsell you on stuff.

I sure hope this pandemic pushes dealers to ditch their sales model. Having a customer go to the dealership before they talk numbers just doesn’t work.

I went from this car to a BMW and there is still a fairly wide gulf between the two when it comes to the interiors. Aesthetics aside (hard to deny the Genesis is a bit bland) everything you touch in a BMW exudes quality and feels good. The Genesis is ‘a very nice car’ but doesn’t have the details down yet. It just

It doesn’t seem to justify only a $5k price delta. For only 5k more, I’d still go with the Germans for the same thing. I’m a bit of a BMW nerd - but “finishing” the package is important to me. at ~8.3% less it just isn’t worth it. However, I dont know how depreciation values and maintenance compare so cost of

I also prefer much more expensive cars to cheaper cars.

As would I, however, I don’t have E63 wagon money, heck don’t even have A 220 sedan money.

That is one good looking car. Well Done Mercedes.

Same for Volvo...

I think it has the right balance between form and function. I’m and architectural designer, and if I had a family and if I had to pick American, I’d get this.

This is the correct answer.  Lease a Volvo for now, get a fully E-vehicle in 3 years.

I think the buyer is missing the basic psychology here. Do you want a doctor who is your equal? Or do you want a doctor who is smarter than you? If I am hiring an architect, I definately want someone who has better taste than me. The Volvo, especially the interior, screams “architect’s car.” The Land Rover would also

Pacifica Hybrid?

I owned that car... one just like that, except it had a rear spoiler, and 18" aftermarket wheels, and Spec.B dampers with STI springs, and a COBB AccessPort Stage 2 tune.

But remember these 2.5GTs? They were so cool when I was in HS, dovetailing off the early WRX/STI success. Now I’m 32 and should want to buy a modern equivalent, but I don’t want a modern Legacy...

This is the kind of content I come here for.

Looking at the results thus far, there are others like me who clicked NP.

Strap in...or strap on?

It’s interesting reading into the psychology of the comments for this one. A number of folks are saying they won’t buy it because the price is so low and therefore setting off alarm bells.

It’s like dating a crazy chick. Either you do the smart thing and just keep walking, or you strap in and enjoy the ride. Personally, I married the crazy chick. Twice. NP.
