Googled this out of curiosity to see who this shop is, and found this ad from August 2021:

Have fun tracking down a assortment of parts that you didn’t put away and label yourself.

Lol I feel like a “90% restored” car would be one that I could drive but, like, the windows and radio didn’t work and it was finnicky about starting, or something. A shell with no parts is like.....20% restored.

This smells strongly like a mechanic’s lien vehicle - the seller was originally contracted to restore the car, but then the original owner lost interest, ran out of money or died - and the shop is trying to recoup the money they have outlaid.

The World’s Nicest S1 might be worth the asking price, but only if it was already completed, and it was mostly original. I get what he’s going for with all the mods but then I don’t think it can command concours-level price.

I saw a V8 car go for under $50K on Hemmings Auctions this past December, so $75K seems a big

I don’t understand listings like this. If you’ve already done all the most expensive work (rebuilding an engine/trans, paintwork, fiberglass repair, etc), why would you not just finish it all the way and sell the completed car?

Someone stole my bike a few months ago… (actually I think they stole the trailer and the bike was just on it)…. And a few weeks ago, it reappeared. A friend of mine was driving past a homeless encampment, and there it was…

He will, as soon as they return his bus.

Beaver seems to be being extraordinarily reasonable about this.

The hazard light request is valid, but driver here was definitely go too fast for the conditions. Wildlife and detritus don’t have hazard lights and there could have been plenty of that on the road. Don’t outdrive your headlights.

Right? I’ve heard people call them hazards or occasionally flashers, but not blinkers. Blinkers are turn indicators. It was funny to read the headline, and then read this:

I’m pretty sure its already been made illegal to buy them without a matching VIN, no?  These scrappers are all in on the take, so they dont care if its legal or not and they are literally disposing the evidence.

They’re like 8 foot, 9 feet, 10 foot. They look like aliens to us. Big eyes. They have big eyes.”

God, I hate these slideshows. It’s just as bad as those clickbait articles you see on social media, “Jane lose forty pounds by doing this one simple trick....”.

and the eyes on the air scoop butterflies are a nice touch.

in the true jalopnik spirit, i recommend a 6 speed maserati gransport with 60K miles. $25K - check. Classy - check. Manual -you can find one if you look hard enough.

I was almost this same exact guy, although over a decade ago at this point. I commuted from Arlington out to Tysons Corner thru some brutal traffic on 66 and route 7. I got a lightly used manual GTi and it’s a pretty ideal car for a young person living in an urban environment. Good enough on gas, parks easily and is

Or, you could buy a two year old, single-owner LC500 with low miles for the same price or less. You’d have another car that wasn’t fast fast, but looked waaay better (in my humble opinion).

I think the bigger issue as you crest the $90k mark is not just the LC500, but the fact that brings you in the realm of CT5 V Blackwing territory.

Yep. I really, really wanted to like the IS500, but that amazing engine cannot overcome the ancient eight speed automatic. I don’t mind the outdated interior, that’s a feature to me (and a big reason I went for my Blackwing). I don’t mind the older platform (I had an IS 250 in manual for a time, and other than really
