Everything also depends. Low production performance cars have always been expensive. The window sticker on my rx7 (93) says $32,800, and that was in 1992. From that standpoint, an objectively better, faster, safer, more powerful, and worse looking car at $45k or even $52k 30 years later seems like a steal. 

Hmm so it’s actually only about 5K less that the bigger, V6 TLX Type S. Obviously the Integra will appeal to a different buyer but that’s not a big price gap. 

Looks like you’re right and I’m wrong - it is the 4runner that still has a 5-speed. I mistakenly assumed the Tacoma was the same since they are mechanically very related.

Because it’s cheaper to manufacture*, cheaper to repair, more reliable and lighter in weight. Makes sense, huh?

Our household is currently on our 4th Bolt EV. We are not sure what to do when our current lease runs out in less than a year. I really see no realistic replacement for this car, and the Equinox is just going to be much larger.
