Counterpoint: The Supra looks and sounds better. I rest my case.

There is 0 turbo or anything in the rear. I’m not even convinced those velocity stacks have actual NOS piped to them (or even go into the intake). I don’t see a purge valve under the hood, nor any switches or buttons on the interior for activating the system (and there’s no picture of the tanks).

I just looked at the pictures on FBM... Is that a FAKE ROLLBAR? It looks like it’s just sitting on the carpet unattached to anything.

although the dealer has no word on how much power this thing makes.

And these interiors were “nice” compared to American cars of the era. Go look up a Malibu or Taurus from the mid 2000s for comparison.

Heavy, ponderous things with little joy in driving them,

Agreed, especially since this is a transverse FWD-oriented AWD setup.

Very different cars.

really the tC was the successor to the Celica all along.

I think it’s that the Celica suffered from being seen as a “girl’s car” whereas the AE86 gained popularity in the USA due to anime.

The Supra is probably Toyota’s best GT (grand touring) car.

Toyota has zero interest in actually selling the supra

we wouldn’t be surprised if demand starts to fall off once the early adopters have all gotten theirs.

Yeah, I don’t think the authors here expect you to actually click on the links.  I’ve long suspected that they are auto-generated.

For sure. That’s basically what I was getting at. Axle hop is generally a symptom of too much traction.

The Speirling is such an incredible machine, I’m surprised that it doesn’t get talked about more often.

masochistic?

VW has been phoning in the manuals for so long.

The LSD doesn’t help.  The axle hop is terrible.
