I don’t think people around here realize how expensive Wranglers have always been. Sure, the stripper sport models have reasonable MSRPs, but those are relatively difficult to get and options add up fast. In the 90s, optioning the six cylinder pushed the price into the 20s, and there were plenty more options to add.

Winter tires are unnecessary for most people anymore. Tire tech has evolved so much in the past decade that there are plenty of all season tires out there that can handle tons of snow and not be destroyed during summer driving. They were necessary on the 300SL. I would argue that there has never been another successful implementation of gullwing doors. They’re just pure gimmick.

These guys were street racing on a single lane residential street. It looks like Challenger might have gone in to pass the Altima and Big Altima Energy had to show him what the VQ could do (or, more likely QR).

The GR86 is a Celica. The first three generations were light weight, RWD, sporty cars, and the 7th gen weighed 2550lbs, had a 8k redline, and 100hp/L and did quite well in SCCA. It was only really the fifth and sixth gen that was heavy, but even then, only in the turbo AWD guise.

The metal price is 10000% the driver of crime. Criminals will find a way. Criminals could learn to extract the guts of a CC and sell that off instead.
