The GR86 is a Celica. The first three generations were light weight, RWD, sporty cars, and the 7th gen weighed 2550lbs, had a 8k redline, and 100hp/L and did quite well in SCCA. It was only really the fifth and sixth gen that was heavy, but even then, only in the turbo AWD guise.

The metal price is 10000% the driver of crime. Criminals will find a way. Criminals could learn to extract the guts of a CC and sell that off instead.

Ah yes, because all those thieves are getting caught in the act.

Shipping only works at scale. If the authorities nab the few shady scrap yards buying stolen CCs, then they’ve solved the problem.

Maine had a HUGE problem with people stripping summer homes of plumbing over the winter.

the main buyers for pickups: suburban commuters who think they need a truck instead of car.

Massive knowing your customer fail.

It’s illegal to bring your gun into a lot of places. So a lot of people who carry regularly have to leave their guns in their car.

That’s not dumb. Home ownership is a great way to build wealth and provide stability to one’s family.

I don’t know what the solution is outside of some sort of federal or state level used car loan program.

A 22% APR means that the lender is quite confident that they will need to repo that vehicle. Granted, I’m sure a good bit of this is car dealerships adding points because used car buyers have few options anymore.

Driving through UK has made me okay with this. They have traffic cameras everywhere. People generally drive pretty calmly and don’t break traffic laws for fear of tickets (speed limits are actual limits and people often drive under them). Plus, you almost never see the police.

People love their grey cars.  So if that’s not your favorite grey, I’m sure Chevy offers this in like six other options.

Chevy reliability?

You can make a counter-argument without being an asshole about it.

This looks like more like an RX-7 than a Miata. And given the RX cars were always “experimental” it fits for an electric sports car experiment. Plus, that car looks like a modern (FD mostly) RX-7. The low hood, the swoopy side windows and door, the pinched rear window, the five spoke wheels.

I would love to see what the MK VIII would have looked like today if still in production (and not SUVified) I always liked these.

Yeah, it’s basically impossible to hold onto a 60%+ marketshare in the automotive sector.

“Rally Cross Mustang.”

I’m glad someone here gets it.
