So in my mind I wonder how many of those things were close enough to fitting that they just hammered the bolts in and called it a day, because that’s how much they cared.

Easy: S197 5.0 6MT. Grabber Blue w/Performance pack & Recaros
Ford: Let’s market research with people who can’t afford the car and won’t be able to for another 10-15 years. Double bonus points - let’s use people who have little experience driving any cars. They’ll be wowed by anything cooler than an hand-me-down Camry.
Fuck these guys for ruining things for all of us. The broken rules that don’t cause anyone issues often remain unenforced.
Smart negotiation on their part. Especially pulling out the CEO pay argument.
The G70 represents one of the best value proposition for sports sedans out there
Goddamn car prices.
The Genesis G70 is probably the closest any automaker has come to recreating the excellent driving feel of the legendary BMW 3 Series.
You yourself see that Toyota is making a product that is clearly in demand, thus will sell like crazy. Yet you call this idea dumb?
Toyota - Please call it the Taquito.
The Taco is getting the i-force max drivetrain. The 28MPG highway it is estimated to be rated at is probably the upper limit anyone could expect out of a gigantic brick anyway.

My big wish is that the base model came with an LSD as that’s a deal breaker for me. 400hp with a RWD open diff seems like a bad idea.
Chassis dynos aren’t useful for comparison. The same car on different dynos with different operators will put out different numbers, nevermind different cars are different dynos . Dynojets in particular are essentially made up figures to inflate owner’s egos, especially at some shops.
I couldn’t justify buying this over a Mustang GT for roughly the same price.
Show me a car made in the past 15 years with better paint. I’m pretty sure everyone in the industry has to use the eco-friendly, no-waste paint process that causes this “orange peel.”
Additionally: don’t let the stick-shift fool you, this is not in any way remotely a sporty ride. That huge engine is completely fore of the front axle and it makes them feel much larger to turn than you’d think. They are also pretty slow.
