This is the danger with regulations. Someone is going to justify shoving a loophole in there. And contrary to popular sentiment, lawmakers aren’t dumb, they design those loopholes to look innocuous while being the size of Montana.

“It’s coming down the pike so fast — all these EV requirements. Everybody is on a learning curve,”

I’d get my dad a 2012 BOSS302 in Grabber blue. He’s an old school Mustang guy and that car feels like the ultimate pre-2015 model to have. The GT500s are just too much power and not enough balance. Though, I’m sure everyone would disagree.

Hopefully Mattel starts watching auction sites and overproducing the models fetching the highest prices.

This is probably the case - their L3B turbo 4 is a massive 2.7L unit making 430lb-ft in some forms. Considering most turbo sixes are in the 2.9-3.3L range, there’s probably not a lot of power to be gained from a much more expensive and heavy I6 setup.

is a 700hp Dodge that much quicker for making a getaway than a 300hp Camry?

Let this be a lesson to customers: pay for this feature if you feel like you’ll ever need to use it. Even if the company activated the feature immediately, it apparently takes a pretty long time to come fully online.

It’s a cheap way to fund development, gauge interest, and build hype.

I had a grey 03 back in the mid aughties. It was a pretty great car. Luxurious, good looking, comfortable, and with a tune + downpipe, quite fast for the era. It handled like ass though.

There is a reason you don’t see these models around anymore.

No, this isn’t a crime. They didn’t refuse the person service on the basis of their race (that would be a crime).

Lowering kits for the CR-V are cheap.
