For fleet trucks, it’s often the only option. Which is why 95% of work vans you see are white. And that’s because it’s cheap. White is the cheapest paint by a few hundred dollars.

It always seemed backward as hell to me.

V8s are as much about marketing as they are engineering. So while they might be objectively worse than some alternative, the customers are not all well-informed actors behaving in a purely rational manner.

Corvette because they wouldn’t be able to afford it.

but if you don’t have the infrastructure to charge them, it’s not going to take hold as quickly.

Hot Take: the CT5-V & Blackwing should have been badged as four-door Camaros.

Not a hot take at all.  The original design works better with the “simple” design of the car overall.

No. That niche is filled by smaller vans like the NV200.

Agreed. A truck should be able to haul sheet goods. Ford did a great job with ensuring the Maverick could fit a full sheet of plywood without having to worry about it sticking out of the bed and flopping around.

Once the stop-sale ends, the market will flood with new Zs. The Proto is limited to 240 units, so expect high prices if you want a new one. It’s just a paint/trim package, so you’re not missing out if you opt for a non-Proto model. Buy a grey or black one and have it wrapped.

My A91-MT. I went to two dealerships the day ordering opened to put down deposits in hopes that I got one, then waited as the delivery dates were pushed back multiple times.

Since we are talking about an F1 Engine in a Mercedes supercar. All of those questions are answered. A 1.6L turbocharged V6 that revs to 15,000 RPMS, making ~870HP, and possibly a hybrid system that emulates KERS. The chassis will weight around what an AMG GT does, so 3600lbs, because it’s a Mercedes supercar.

The X-Terra is a great choice. It’s not super reliable, but it’s easy to fix and all of the issues with them are widely known. Plus, everything on it has been in the standard Nissan parts bin for up to 3 decades by now, so it should be possible to keep one of these going into the apocalypse.

Why would anyone want a performance street vehicle with a 1.6L engine? That would be awful at low speeds.

No one at GM or Ford seems to agree.

Lifestyle brands have to eventually piss off their core audience to survive.

I ride with a bunch of Harley guys and no way in hell they will buy an electric HD.

Hot take, but that seems rather slow for a 416HP AWD vehicle. Lots of other cars are doing sub-4, with less horsepower or even without AWD.

Pretty much this. I put deposits down on multiple cars because the wait lists were months long and no dealer was willing to guarantee a deposit meant a car.
