Early rumors were that Ford was considering the Explorer platform as the basis of the next Mustang. Hence the speculation of AWD and a hybrid. There would be no reason to even consider the CD6 unless AWD was on the table.

I was looking forward to AWD. The biggest issue with the 5.0 is lack of traction at legal speeds. You have to baby the throttle in first to even get moving. If you look up 0-60 times from real people on YT, you’ll see a lot of variation with what people can actually get.

Mustangs aren’t bad with snow tires. You wouldn’t want to rely on one if you have to get to work no matter what. But it’s fine for normal suburbanites.
