If you used the “free” Worldcat.org you are missing a lot of libraries. If you do not pay extra you do not get listed. Not every OCLC library can afford to/be bothered to keep their holdings/links to holdings up to date (as you found out)... it is not automatic nor free and if you tell me it should not be as difficult…
