The fact this isn’t a real 930 is its best quality. Hear me out: I’m a guy that likes to drive a car more than look at it under glass. Here’s one of these you can drive like crazy and not be financially terrified (even while you are white knuckled, laggy turbo snap-oversteer terrified). The engine swap is no big deal

Holy crap that’s terrifying in so many ways.

Not in Asia where minivans (and vans in general) are seen as status symbols, and most plutocrats get shuttled around in Alphards.

I’m voting CP mostly because I hate the current Porsche market. I'm just angry I didn’t buy a Porsche while they were cheap.

Nice Price or Crack Pipe?

It is all of the things.
The way I look at it the TJ Cruiser is an all round everyday car that is far more practical than the rounded and space compromised SUVs that we have now. There are a lot of people out there that fancy function over form and a few idiosyncratic touches I imagine it as a boxy Subaru with a lot

That Nissan hardbody, so nice!

Yep. And it’s only two years away!

Nothing can stop it, except for VW delaying it until it loses all relevancy and diluting the style until it looks like any other mini-van.

Every hipster worth his man-bun aspires to one.

The VW electric bus will be one of the best selling EVs of all time. Nothing can stop it.

So Toyota basically wants to make a modern version of the 1st generation Mazda MPV, which could be equipped with part-time 4WD system with a locking center differential and a 4 corner load leveling suspension that would raise ground clearance in 4WD.

Everything here sounds great. Until next month when Jalopnik hits us with the ”The Toyota TJ Cruiser is $65,000 minivan-SUV hybrid” article.

Yeah the new Challenger’s tail stripe never looked right to me. I do love a good bumblebee stripe on an old MoPar though. My Dart Swinger...

My God - a new Toyota that I like?

Making minivans cool is the first step to getting people to buy them in droves again.  The TJ Cruiser is definitely a step in that direction.

The Ford “Nite” edition Bronco and F-150 of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s were always a favorite of mine. Simple, and worked well with the black paint.

Regardless of what the decal implies, it must add artistic balance to the lines and proportion of the car.

I always thought it was great that Plymouth took its cars seriously but with some fun thrown in.
