My vet told me the same thing. Especially when gums get involved. All three of my cats are the same age (almost 3), have always eaten the same healthy-as-shit food, and one is going to need some dental work at some point and the vet said that’s just how she was made, nothing we did wrong.

My cat Felix had two teeth pulled and he looks slightly different but he’s still forever hungry. I really don’t have a point but here’s a picture.

It’s highly dependent on genetics. I’ve had cats whose teeth had problems starting at a pretty young age, and cats who made it to 18 with no dental problems (well, minor tartar buildup, but never any rotting teeth/gum infections) on the exact same diet.

One of my friends is a vet, and she says cat dental health is mainly dependent on genetics.

Wow. First, I am so sorry that happened to your cousin and am really glad to hear she is doing well. Second, you sound like an amazing cousin.

I sort of suspect Marla is the one who sent the tax return pages to the NYTimes.

I worked in Shelter services for my municipality during Katrina (and Ike and Rita) - I am in East Texas near Houston. I assisted hundreds of Katrina refugees with their FEMA paperwork and organized the shelter. The people who had family that remained behind, by choice or circumstance, broke my heart.

Yeah. I’m not necessarily against the “scare people into doing what is urgently necessary to protect their very lives” tactic, but there are ways to do that that aren’t ... this. And for people who don’t have the resources for getting out, that’s exactly what emergency management should be for. Ideally, I would think

Not so easy to evacuate when you don’t have the money to travel and get the fuck out of dodge.

I am team get-the-fuck-out but his statements are pretty insensitive to people who straight up don’t have the means to leave (money for gas, are homebound due to illness or age, etc).

Owl see if I can refrain.

Uh huh, because some people are told if they leave they will lose their job and they are poor enough that they stay because they must. Or they have no transportation. Or they have no money for fuel to leave. Or they just got leave as of today and are stuck on the highway like my brother, his wife, and their five

Press conference this morning on NPR - 8am, Orlando. Scott: “People will die. There will be deaths.”

Isn’t that a little hawkish to not let others take wing like you have already?

Same here, those jokes really ruffle my feathers.

No more bird jokes on this post, I prey.

This woman needs serious psychiatric help. Don’t think jail time is going to be of much use for a woman who inflicts her own disorders on her kids.

What she really should’ve been feeding her offspring is mice and small birds.

“Billy Long” sound like a fake name you use to check into a Vegas hotel with a hooker.
