I honestly doubt anyone in the US was aware of that. To us, she was simply “British”, which is generally just considered a version of “white” (and yes, I know there are Brits of all races, just saying the generalized impression), with no additional information given.

As a Brit i do believe that she is innocent and i think our media was a mess in this and was vile against Knox. But it is actually really sad that in US media Meredith Kercher has basically been forgotten, plus it does not help that Meredith was not white and not American.

There is plenty of wealth to go around in this country. Make sure everyone has a bare minimum. If people want more money or like working, they can try to go find a paying job. The rest of us can keep things going by volunteering and doing other things to create community.

We used to dream about robots doing all the work so that humans could have more leisure time and more fulfilling lives. This could be the reality! Not all jobs will be eliminated, but we could easily get down to very short work weeks (if we compensate people properly).
