This article also pretty radically restates the findings from the paper, which was authored by an economics research associate and a recent economics grad, to lend some context.

Yes, they’ll buy a new car. Likely a new EV. The old car continues to rack up miles with the new owner, and if the new car gets sold before it reaches the magic number, the same thing will happen again.
How many people really don’t keep their cars for more than “between 28,069 and 68,160 miles”?
If this is piracy, so is writing a book report, or any literature class for that matter. If you had taken two seconds to read what the site actually did, you would see that it did not publicly share copyrighted content beyond brief snippets, much like using quotes in a literary analysis. The only difference here is…
“I’ve just discovered that MANHUNT has been uploaded to a content mining site so that it can be indifferently plagiarized by anyone who wants to feed it into their so-called “AI”.”
Maybe Microsoft will finally be competitive in the console space now. At least I’m pretty sure there wouldn’t be another Xbox if this deal hadn't gone though.
If they are willing to use CGI versions of background actors, what exactly is stopping them from skipping those actors altogether, and simply using designer 3D models?
I’m guessing that's where mods come in.
The simple fact that there is a market for this shows just how bad the wealth divide has gotten. This shouldn’t exist, and anyone even considering buying one needs to be taxed until that consideration seems stupid. Just like with private jets, giant yachts, multi-million dollar birthday parties, etc.
I still really want a film adaptation of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. I don’t care how we get it done, but it needs to get done.
I’m honestly very glad that it doesn’t have an OLED screen, as, much like my Nest Hubs, I really want it to be a control panel for my home most of the time, which means a lot of static display content over long periods of time. With an OLED, that will inevitably result in burn-in over time.
So, the real question is, how much work would it to tear out it’s electronics, replace the movement controller with an Arduino, then put in a Pi Zero or something and have it be a talking ChatGPT terminal?
The amount of additional energy transferred would be a rounding error compared to how much the earth is already being bathed in by the sun. And not even all of that energy will be converted to thermal energy. It's like a free extra rain drops during a monsoon.
Space is effectively a vacuum, the greatest known thermal insulator in existence (also how thermos bottles work). Objects in space don’t cool down like they do in an atmosphere, because there is no carrier to transfer the excess heat to.
Depends on how well you treat your stuff. I made sure to get my mom an extended warranty on her phone, and she ended up getting it replaced twice, once after dropping it, and again after accidentally letting it fall into water. Some people just have a talent for destroying expensive electronics.
I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt, and am just going to assume their understanding of the definition of the word 'great' is deeply flawed and confused.
The whole session is an hour max, in and out, with a decent chunk of it being after the IV is finished sitting in a comfy chair waiting for the effects of your trip to end. So it’s not hours. It still isn’t cheap, either, though.
None of the clinics I know of take insurance, and I've yet to see an insurance company that allows for it, as it is currently still considered an off-label use.
You’re not going to get addicted from Ketamine treatment, not with the current treatment protocol.
