2016 America: Where a 12-year old boy is shot and killed by the police for playing with a toy and it’s his fault because he should have “known” that people would see him as a threat, while a full-grown adult who rapes an unconscious woman and tries to flee should only have to endure a couple months of jail because

They should be prosecuted as rape (itself a violent crime) + some of other assault charge (to account for choking, hitting, threats of violence with a weapon, etc.). Having degrees like “kind of rape” and “legitimate rape” contributes to this idea so may people have that it’s not “really” rape unless there’s a gun

There are a number of things that are fucked up about this. I’m especially baffled by trying to imagine someone I knew in grade school posing as me to lure women into a situation where they can be raped. That adds another dimension of creepy weirdness to the whole thing.

Settle it privately???? When Depp’s people went on a “she’s a gold digging greedy bitch for leaving two days after my mom died wah wah wah” spree? She should just have allowed herself to be slandered? Sorry that her actual life isn’t “helping domestic violence victims” (excluding herself apparently). Should victims

So you think we need to “change” our “view” of abusive relationships to what, blaming both partners for abuse? Well, aren’t you a fucking revolutionary. Because no one before you has EVER brought up the idea that an abused woman is asking for it by being mouthy, or that there are “two sides to every story” when it

I don’t think it’s huge considering that Depp has prior arrests as well. And I can imagine that two people fighting at an airport would lead to an overreaction from police. Add homophobia to that and I can see how a minor incident might have been overblown. This is not to say Heard’s never gotten aggressive with Depp.

Are you under the impression that if you hit someone in one relationship, a force field goes up around you and no one in any other of your relationships will ever be able to hit you?

[I’m] a dirty fighter. Oh, yeah, The dirtiest there ever was. Stop at nothing. It doesn’t matter. Balls, sucker punch, bite the ear, pull the ear, gouge an eye out. I have done damage, and damage has been done to me. I’ve been hit with everything in the world: ashtrays, bottles, the worst being a pointy-toed Tony Lama

Because she’s the one covered in bruises?

Ah OK, thanks. That answers that.

She knows it’s part of her job to be current on restricted medications and to have documentation to back up anything she’s taking.

First, because she purposely hid her usage. After she changed doctors, she didn’t disclose that she was taking it to her new physician. Nor did she tell any of her trainers.

Yeah, but she didn’t even have a current prescription. So even following your logic, she’s in the wrong.

Good.

The issue is that there was no record of her still having that prescription after 2013, but she’s continued taking the drug, even after it was banned.

Lance Armstrong would have given his left nut to only have had a 2 year sentence against him.

You’ve made a very important point. There are a lot of superlatives in this case that do somewhat distract from it’s commonness.

Makes you wonder what went right in their life that went wrong in Brock Turner’s.

They are heroes in the truest sense. They saw something and did something and proved that every action has the potential to change lives.
