I’ve been holding off on buying this while I wrap up Samus Returns. I might have to drop the Metroid and jump this to the front of the line before Mario Odyssey brings everything else to a halt. I’m not a glutton for punishment but I love me a good run-and-gun game.

I’ve been making steady progress in Metroid: Samus Returns. It’s fun and challenging (sometimes punishingly so). I just got the high jump boots so I’m not too far into the adventure, but I’m having a good time.

Seth was a ridiculously hard boss, there was an easy workaround. In the first round Seth is much easier but he shows you “his real power” after you win. The trick is to set Arcade mode to 1 round per battle, then he’s easy as cake.

Yeah Wood Man is the most baffling choice. I’d put Dr Wily’s two-part ship battle up there if anything (but the game isn’t that hard, especially if you saved up some energy tanks).

This is hardly a gamble but I’d say Nintendo will continue to be near the top of great game publishers. Specifically Retro Studios, their team for 3D Mario games, and the Zelda team(s) will continue to be top-notch.

I guess it wouldn’t be a Final Fantasy game without a few trophies that require dozens of hours of tedium.
