Hmmm, I'm not sure, but I don't think I've ever had a playthrough under 25 hours.

AoL is an action-RPG and lighter on story too though. I would've expected something a little closer to Chrono Trigger's running time. A turn-based JRPG usually kicks into high gear about 12 hours in.

An acquaintance passed away suddenly from an illness last Friday. I didn't know him very well, but he was a good friend of my best friend of the last 8 years. He was in his mid 30s.

I'll probably play this at some point. Is it really 12 hours? That's exceptionally short for an RPG, even in SNES era.

Last night on a whim I decided to play through Journey for the second time. I found it more moving than my first time, which left me with a feeling of 'that's it?' Still it wasn't the life-changing experience it's been hyped up to be. My husband watched me play and was bored.

I'm itching to get back to Paper Jam. Whatever it lacks in variety is more than made up by the humor and the battles are as fun and intense as they've ever been.

Did 40 minutes on the elliptical after a week off because of family visiting. I gotta work off all the pounds from eating out 5 nights in a row.

This weekend I will be playing Visit from the In-Laws. The NPCs are nice, but there's no plot and gameplay consists of watching newborn babies coo and interact.

I was taken aback by the Dark Elf in the FFIV DS remake. It was much tougher than I remember, but the original FFII on the US SNES was the 'easy mode' version

Zelda II counts as an RPG, it's definitely the winner. Blind jumps, bosses that require you to jump awkwardly to avoid being killed, cryptic clues about where to find items, motherfucking Death Mountain etc. I'm sure I would've never beat the game without a guide.
I'll also throw in FFX for the only "traditional" JRPG

The real question we should ask is why after centuries of technological advancement no one could create a robot that could withstand landing on some goddamn spikes.

Played quite a bit of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam on the plane ride. The humor is really strong in this game, I'm enjoying the villains trading insults, especially Kamek and Bowser. The boss battles are surprisingly tough, I actually died against a boss and I'm less than 10 hours in.

Mega Man 2 is set in 200X

Mario & Luigi Paper Jam will be my game for the next 9 hours as I fly home. I'm a few hours into the game and the paper toads searching hasn't gotten old yet, but I can see they're going to shove it down our throats

Men taking up a career associated with women being considered somehow less of a man. If you have a gift for fashion or floral arrangements you should make the most of it.

I hate the idea that a man who's seen desirable by multiple women is called a 'pimp'. Pimps use vulnerable women (and probably underage girls) to make money and usually beat them too, why the fuck would anyone want to be associated with that?

I didn't say that! You're right though

I will be flying out in a few hours to the west coast for 5 days with my in-laws. The 3DS is on deck for the flight, so that means I might have a chance to dig into Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam or Zelda Oracle of Ages/Seasons, which I bought during Nintendo's E3 Sale. There's also a good chance I might squeeze in some Chro

If we count consulting FAQs as cheating, pretty much every game I've ever played with puzzles wins this award. If I get stuck for more than 20 minutes I pull up a guide (or YouTube) and find what I need to know. 90% I missed something simple or didn't look behind a certain rock. The other times it's Metroid and I need

I've long felt that Japanese developers have had a better handle on making games that control well, particularly when it comes to hand-to-hand/sword combat and platformers. "Character action" games originate from Japan with Devil May Cry and continue with games like Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden and Metal Gear Rising. And
