I'd forgotten that until I saw The Social Network.

Urgh, not only is it just 8-bit. It's mostly Mario 1/Duck Hunt. The one Zelda item is a women's tank top. It's like they said "Let's make something for people who only played games that came with the system!"

What about item management? I remember that was a huge pain too.

I'm at Chapter 6 of Bravely Second. The game threw in an intriguing mystery just when I thought we were done. A few endgame sidequests have popped up but I don't see myself bothering with them at the moment, I'm just ready to be done.

Nope, thirties

yikes

I'm trying to wrap up Bravely Second. Chapter 5 had a "let's put aside our differences and work towards a better world together!" moment that felt so incredibly forced that it's hard for me to care where the story goes from here. I'm in a dungeon where most enemies hit for a ton of damage and a few have instant kill

An emphatic fuck you to the Catholic Church for spending $2 million to lobby against child sex abuse reform in NY.

I'm kind of rooting for Cersei and Jaime now and I don't know what to do with that.

On the subject of #2, I watched this Youtube video about a gathering of juggalos and they all kept calling each other "ninja". Made them sound like a bunch of middle schoolers trying to be cool. You just know those guys (who were 99% white) let "n*gga" fly like a comma once the cameras weren't around.

Yeah I was replaying it recently (after a 10+ year absence) and was surprised at how often it doesn't tell you to go. Given how many times I played it in high school I was also shocked I didn't know.

When it comes to mimics, two examples spring to mind: First, there's the fake blocks in Super Mario RPG. One of them appears on a ghost ship and is way too strong for you to take down at that point. Losing sets you back at least 20 minutes, so that's fun.

Doesn't Freedom Planet have a "classic" mode so that you can skip most of the cutscenes automatically?

Just finished season 2 of the Cumberbatch-version of Sherlock Holmes. Even though I was certain that [redacted] wasn't dead, I nevertheless found myself tearing up at the graveyard scene. I watch one episode weekly at a neighbor's house and he's out of town next week, so I'll start season 3 in two weeks. Can't imagine

You can see this play out with the fighting game competitive scene. People like Daigo Umehara and Alex Valle just aren't as dominant as they used to be, as young guys come on the scene and consistently beat them. Daigo is still a beast thanks to good fundamentals and "reads" (basically a "read" in fighting games mean

Lisa turned 8 in like season 3.

Wait, how is it unjustified? Not to be a buzzkill, but the headline implies there's no reason for the rivalry when the text suggests there are plenty of reasons.

I'm just saying for this scene to work I had to ignore a lot of questions that weren't answered. As someone else pointed out, the White Walker being able to touch him and come into the place was awfully convenient too.
