Yeah, the pending comments don’t always show up anymore. I long for the good old days of about six months ago where clicking on the “this post” link in notifications would load the page in a way that took you straight to your comment. Now it’s often too much of a bother to reply to a reply.

And let’s face it, Henry Ford’s rep wasn’t exactly sterling during that time either. Maybe not Hitler level, but it was bad enough.

NC DMV ain’t nutten to **** wit, bro... Somethings do slip but for the most part, they are ON it down here in Raleighwood...

Lets just pull the Carfax on the car and see who owned it....   :)

The Concours at Pebble Beach is fucked up beyond repair

For some Culver’s cheese curds, of course!

Practical battery technology wasn’t even possible in a laboratory setting until the 1970s at the earliest. Electric cars were never going to dominate the ICE in the early 20th century.

The ones from states to the north, south and west of me. If there were any to the east, they’d be shitty drivers too.

Just left Atlanta… and yes… the roadways are a complete cluster.

This, “Let’s run three major interstates together in the center of a major metropolitan area (and state capitol), call every other street Peachtree %#*&, and have exit ##A be right and ##B a 1/4 mile later be a left exit across 8 to 10 lanes of traffic.

Since this is a tail dragger it has a pretty limited view of what’s in front when not up to speed, and given that kayaks are generally low to the water, my guess is the pilot didn’t see the kayaker paddle into their path and wasn’t aware of them until they were leveling out. With that said, I would not be paddling

Yes, good old benevolent Henry.

In todays hostile work environment, the smaller the union, the less power it has.

I like Biden’s approach here. My biggest beef with the UAW (and others) is that they caved to the corporate head honchos in the 1950's when the unions originally wanted the US to adopt universal health care like the UK and others in Europe, and Wall St didn’t. Boardrooms offered very generous health plans to unions if

Please, it’s not nearly that simple. My 2003 Corolla was built in a UAW plant, and Corollas are very reliable, no matter where they are built. 2003 Corollas are amongst the most reliable 2003 cars built.

You do understand that non union workers get treated relatively well in the auto industry so that they won’t become union? If the UAW wasn’t looming in the background, they would get treated much worse.

You do know what a local is, right?

Understatement of the fucking century there, Erik. Their union busting behavior would have a gilded age oligarch taking a step back in disgust.

As a Swede I have a hard time understanding that people can not be in a union.

Funny - you missed the point completely.
