In my youth, I had an 8-track recorder. To make it even more awesome, it was by Realistic from Radio Shack. My nerd-dom knows no boundaries.

The possibility of this happening crossed my mind. I got COVID in May and was down for 3 weeks.  Luckily in decent historical shape so I survived without a trip to the hospital.  COVID is no joke.  One can retain what we now know as ‘Long COVID’.  Hope Lewis is ok.

That boyfriend was a real piece of shit

That headline made me think this was going to be a farewell post.

The problem with the digital one is that it gives the illusion of precision. In reality, all handheld calipers are sh*t. You hand the caliper to 3 different people measuring the same thing and you get 3 different answers. The reason is that the angle you hold that caliper makes a big difference, as does the tightness

Agreed! Cheap dials live out in the garage because batteries don’t like the cold and not all digitals make batteries last like Mitutoyos (nor are my Mitutoyos my garage beaters). Plus, good enough dials are cheaper than good enough, fumble and drop resistant digitals.

Do you have a personal beef with the author? Did Jalopnik reject your resume? You spew a lot of vitriol for a grown-ass-man...

An important reminder that your local elections are far more important than the national ones, at least in terms of your day-to-day life. Say what you will about any President, none of them made it illegal for you to register your car in Maine and none of them could’ve even if they wanted to.

We should have been more precise in our language around the Delica and ‘mini-trucks,’ but regardless, the underlying statute is what is being followed.””

Both cars backed up easily 3-4' more than they needed to, for that matter.

Back in High School some of my friends and I used to play a game called PT Loser, which involved us taking pictures of the most hideously modified PT Cruisers we could find and then roast the shit out of them in a group text. It all went well until that fateful day where I ended the game in glorious fashion with this

If you ever see someone standing beside their Ferrari, casually say “Awesome Corvette! What year is it?”

I don’t know your colleagues but I personally am smart enough to not mess with the payroll person.

Because I bet Pao taillights are not easy to come by, I’ll recommend you find a shop to restore the UV coating. Chances are what UV protection was there before the DEET damage was already mostly gone. But now there’s none.

Fun fact that many of Jalopnik’s more urban dwelling readers may not know: Many tractors, floaters (spreaders), and sprayers are level 3 autonomous once they’re in the field.
It starts with planting. You enter parameters for the field and the tractor drives itself (about 99%) and pulls the planter. Then the file goes

When I was learning, one time Dad and I stopped at this weird tiny gas station in town (for some reason the one regular station was out of commission). We’re talking, one dude in a 6'x6' building, two pumps that were from the 60s maybe. He came out and chatted as we gassed up, I said I was learning, and that what made

My high school driving instructor, Mr. Greene, had some advice for me during a drive in the Driver’s Ed car, which was this big ol’ 70's station wagon with wood look vinyl siding and a second brake pedal installed for the instructor.

I was always told when pulling up behind a stationary car at a traffic light, make sure you can completely see the bottoms the rear tires. It’s a guarantee you have enough room to turn the wheel and get around him. Helpful in a potential car jacking or other instance where you would need to make a quick maneuver

I’m glad she found him, whipped his ass, got her car back and lived to tell it on video. My friend is laughing at this because a fool stole the battery from my car when the temperature was in the low teens.

This story is everything I fuckin needed this week 😂
