Our first valentine’s day my now husband got me a blender, but it was because I really WANTED one. He was still so nervous to give it to me in case it was some kind of trick because he knew appliances were not generally romantic, LOL.

Hahaha, all of those stories are great, but the dad saving his son is hilarious. My husband was that guy for his friends this year - two buddies tried brushing off Valentine’s day as dumb because they’re married so why bother, and my husband was like, “OK guys, but seems like you’re digging a hole when you could be…
I was just thinking as I was reading through these posts that Chester’s death made me so, so sad. Linkin Park’s debut album was one of my favorites in high school and I just loved his voice and his collaborative passion for music and man, what a bummer when I heard he died. :(
Ugh, yes. Even Jumanji makes me sad now!
My husband and I are earlier millenials (‘84 and ‘87) and for a long time we were so discouraged because we live near Austin, where the housing market is quickly getting to LA/DC standards. We had been saving for years and decided to put money down on a piece of land, which we could pay for and continue saving again…
OMG having to step into a shower like that every day sounds like a circle of Hell from Dante’s Inferno. I fully expect this image to show up in my nightmares. :/
I grew up a reader and thankfully had wonderful English teachers at my High School (apparently the only subject my school could retain talent in). They always challenged us to think about the text and ask questions, whether we liked the book or not - and it was OK to not like it (I hated Tale of Two Cities for…
You just perfectly articulated my feelings every time I see his stupid face.
Agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Ooooh thank you for that context. I thought she was radiant, and that makes each piece of her outfit even more special.
I mean, seeing a cheater get a verbal beat down would make my morning commute much better. Good for you.
Yoooooooo, I was thinking, “I’d have bagged the bodies and given them to him,” but somehow JUST the tails is sooooo much worse! LOL

Starring for Mango Unchained. *Chef’s Kiss*
Ahahahaahahahahahaha I knewwwww it. As soon as I saw the announcement I sent a text to my friend that said, “You know that dipshit thinks he’ll be standing in front of the actual Alamo.”
Unrelated to the post, which is depressing but wholly unsurprising, but piping up to say: Aren’t Cricuts like...the most useful thing ever?!?
1000% agree. What she did is replicable. I’m already asking the Democratic Party in Texas if we’re planning to do all the exact same things, because it’s just as possible here as it was there.
Person recovering from severely disordered eating here, and her posts just made me so...sad. I am so thankful I’m at a point mentally where I can see diet culture in this form and feel sadness, rather than apprehension, or that temptation to dive back into disordered eating for the “control” and “results.” Your…
Omg the grandma using her microphone has me cackling because I can absolutely see my grandma doing the same thing!
That is infuriating! They could have at least given you the dignity of a real interview. They’d already wasted your time, they deserved to have to waste theirs, too! At least then you’d get some practical experience and if you made a good impression, maybe they could have kept their ears out for you at other orgs.
