I’m actually kinda astonished I’ve never had an issue with my car. Maybe it’s just the sheer size of the internet, but I’ve seen so many stories about glitches and bugs with the software and stuff that I was prepared to just suck it up.

I’m a happy Tesla owner and my car hasn’t had any issues in 10k miles of ownership. However. If this happens to me, any “brand loyalty” goes out the window. If you wanna make your car dependent on a single screen for basically every function including the speedometer, you better fucking make sure that screen works.
Electrify America is nowhere near a viable competitor to Tesla Superchargers. The average EA station has 2-4 50kW plugs, with some stations having a couple 150kW or 350kW chargers. They have a reputation for being unreliable and difficult to use, and when you don’t have free charging, they’re several times as…
I think, for better or worse, we will see a lesser version of the bipolar world that we had in the Cold War.
Boeing’s position at the top was never solid. The two companies were pretty much perfectly matched before the 737 MAX, with Boeing holding a slight lead in the widebody segment and Airbus doing better with narrowbodies (A320). I expect that the A320neo will extend Airbus’s lead in its market segment, so Airbus’s edge…
I’d take 14 hours on a plane over 16 hours on a train. At least it’s clean and fast, and you’ll be somewhere after those 14 hours.
I would love to put a big battery and RWD EV drivetrain in one of those. Silent, cushy, massive.
It’s pretty hard to actually put a definitive number on air to air kills sometimes, with inconsistent numbers on the number of planes shot down from both sides. It’s pretty common to say more than a certain number.
Wut? The Prius is $4,000 cheaper than the Rav4 Hybrid, gets 12 more mpg, and fits this guys desires better. And I doubt it’s louder. The Prius is very aerodynamic and the new ones have more sound deadening than before. Power seats are a stupid reason to buy one car over another.
Since when did we realize reusable rockets were stupid? In 10 years, one company has grown from a startup with a tiny launch vehicle (Falcon 1) into the largest provider of launch services in the world. The Falcon 9 is one of the most reliable rockets out there and the only American rocket capable of carrying humans.…
It’s a reflection of contemporary American culture. Wealth inequality in this country is at its worst point since the Gilded Age, and it’s harder and harder every year for poor folks to move up in society, yet everybody is aspirational. Nobody feels like they’re working-class, they’re just not millionaires yet. And…
Wow, I don’t think I could be seen in this monstrosity if you gave it to me for free.
b-but it was going to destroy Tesla and show all those smug EV people that hydrogen is the fuel of the future!
Yes, if it’s the right car. My last car was a 2009 Prius and it had 160,000 miles when I eventually sold it in March, and I’m sure it will go on to serve as daily transportation for someone else for many more years. It was dirt-cheap to run and insure, and never had a single mechanical issue in almost 12 years of…
Is this too crazy? Maybe.
But it’s drop-dead gorgeous, AWD, and faster than anything this side of a 911 Turbo.
Or alternatively, get the still very fast AWD V6 and save $10k for Jaguar stuff.

I own a Model 3 and I think it’s a decent looking car, but the Model Y looks bloated and awkwardly proportioned. The Mach-E looks so much sleeker to me.
Ah, I didn’t see that 75.5 kWh was the full, not usable, capacity of the battery. That makes it at least a bit better. I’m not saying the Mach-E isn’t a competitive vehicle (I think it will sell very well), but if Ford could match Tesla’s range or Tesla could match Ford’s quality, you’d have an incredible electric car.
Why can’t other automakers match Tesla’s efficiency? The top-of-the line Mach-E gets close to the Model Y’s range, but it does it with nearly a 100kWh battery and rear-wheel-drive. The standard Ford has the same size battery as the Long Range Tesla, yet when they both have AWD, the Mach-E will only go 211 miles and…
