The thing about bike commuting is, it’s kinda awesome AND it’s kind of a big equalizer. I think the equalization is what people like Mitt Romney don’t like. You will get passed by a dude in his construction job clothes riding a $30 Walmart bike. You will get passed by women in spandex on road bikes who won’t even

Don’t forget though, he is from the party that chooses to be guided by faith over fact. He would likely view those scientific papers as opinion regardless of how qualified or researched they are.

Depends on the location, depends on the road, depends on the city. It’s tough to make general statements - but overall I’d say that sensible policy can lead to a very clean, effective and efficient combination of both.

This isn’t opinion. Plenty of scientific papers on traffic and commuting show that adding more road capacity will short-term alleviate the pressure, and then the traffic jams return. It’s a cold hard fact.

How do you build new roads in an established city?

The article hints at some kind of animosity - despite the actor saying the exact opposite - and also even states that this isn’t actual news, and was already known, publicly available information.

What I mean is, shitty though it is that companies are so white that they have to have diversity initiatives so that they actually hire Black people, but NBC having a Diversity Initiative was always going to mean that people are hired, at least in part, because of that initiative.

Wait, isn’t this how diversity initiatives are SUPPOSED to work? He was given an opportunity that he might have been otherwise passed over for, and it opened doors for him to become immensely successful. Is Jezebel against diversity initiatives now?

The Republicans are really good at making up their own self-fulfilling prophecies.

“Removing automobile lanes to put in bike lanes is, in my opinion, the height of stupidity, it means more cars backing up, creating more emissions.”

Most of the time they dont narrow the road. They remove parking which seems like a fair trade.

This idea that the left knows there’s only one right way to live, it’s the way that we want to live and we’re going to force it on you.

We’re not super good at planning in this country, unfortunately.

I don’t want to take away anyone’s life. I just don’t want to get hit by cars when I’m riding my bike because I like the exercise.

Even though he is surrounded by worse people at the moment, remember that Mitt is hot garbage too.

We need a trans person to snag a sponsorship deal with a gun manufacturer. That’ll get all the wingnuts to get rid of their guns.

“This is the kind of language that can get people…killed.”

The important thing here is that CBS has shown the right that they don’t have a liberal bias, and they’ll be able to enjoy that respect going forward.

Why would anyone waste an entire hour interviewing this idiot? Watching it would actively make you stupider.  I could probably learn more useful information from an hour long interview with a tree stump.

Arguably a well done fact checked interview could have shown people who were unfamiliar with her that she is full of shit. People who like what she says likely won't give a damn. But those aren't the only people who may vote for her.
