For sure.  Laughing is valid and I shouldn’t have suggested otherwise.  We deserve a lil bit of joy in the midst of all this.

I know we are supposed to be laughing at Republicans being divided and fucking everything up. But they have been operating this way since the Tea Party came in and created a split in 2010. They are blatantly disinterested in governing.  Full stop. And yet they hold the House.

I’m not hankering for a car that could drive itself. But I want cars to be safer. I want someone’s car to beep at them as they drift into my lane. I want someone’s car to beep and hit the breaks when they are staring at their cell phone and about to rear end me.

I get what you’re saying. I was gutted by the decision. But, people care about what affects their daily lives. I think the fallout from a nationwide rail shutdown would have been so extreme that the general public would remember it a lot more vividly than they remember the forced end of the strike.

For the actual, real-life President of the United States to utter this sentence in any context is just mind-blowing.

My kids were 0 and 3 in early 2022 when COVID hit. Luckily, by the time my oldest was ready for kindergarten, the schools were open.

I’m double-vaxxed and double-boosted, as are my family and most friends. Most of us wear masks in certain situations (crowded stores, airports, etc.). But other than that, no one I know gives a shit.
