It really makes no sense that the Night King wouldn’t have protected that one glaring weakness a little better.

I said the same thing in another comment. Last episode, didn’t they say the army of the dead would be there before dawn? Couldn’t they wait until the sun come up to start fighting?

Remember how good the battle of Hardhome was... because you could see the battle of Hardhome.  This was like the golden age of radio.

I guess the show has lost a lot of steam with how anticlimactic the end of the battle ended up being and most deaths were entirely gratuitous, with Cersei as the next Big Bad feeling like a step down...

I was honestly like “OH AS IF” after they spent so much of the last ten to fifteen minutes of the episode showing Brienne, Sam, Jaime etc on the precipice of being drowned in wights but they still lived. But it’s not like I wanted them to die, so I’ll live with it.
