The judge can decide whether to have him serve concurrently or sequentially, actually. In this case, though, it is sequentially.

Judges can rule that the sentences be concurrent or in succession, at least in my state (Texas). I served on a jury and we gave the guy 10, 5, and 2 years probation for three charges and the judge is having him serve them concurrently.

This was long overdue.
