Most likely due to the fully boxed frame and steel bed compared to a C-channel frame and plastic bed.

Maybe it's that people think Porsche's have boxer engines. They don't. They have flat engines. You could call it a 180°-V if you really wanted to. The opposing pistons share crank bearings. A boxer engine has the opposing pistons on separate crank bearings while also being 180° offset from one another.
