It’s just pining for the fjords.
It’s just pining for the fjords.
They have this stuff called cocaine.
That's true. And with no job, there's plenty of time to shitpost.
yeah, but you’re not in the greys. can’t buy that.
If you ever hear Conan O Brien (or even Bill Hader) talk about working on SNL, it sounds really brutal. Conan specifically has said repeatedly that he has a love hate relationship with it, as the work itself he’s very proud of and he had a lot of fun, but that he was constantly near panic and the pace of the show…
“a la PT Anderson and There Will Be Blood”?
Feige needs to get in line behind all the other people who have been promised a Star War.
And keep hiring like they did for Black Adam. It was so damn refreshing to see a movie full of brown and black people who looked like me where they were allowed to just be characters in the story. There didn’t need to be bunch of self-congratulatory casting announcements, marketing gimmicks, or constant in-story…
*sigh* I like James Gunn, I love Peacemaker, and I’m excited to see what Gunn does next in the DC playground, but Discovery doesn’t understand what made Kevin Feige so instrumental to the MCU, does it? Feige isn’t a filmmaker. He’s very much a big picture guy - a bigger picture than any one movie. And while I’m not…
Sounds good. I’ve liked their work together, and it’s nice to have a creative at least partially at the helm.
You know what, despite the popular opinion I don’t think this is going to end well. Gunn is a great director but he’s a great director at making one type of film in one extremely specific way, namely a cocky self-aware film that is rather light if gory. But beyond that he’s not really done anything.
AV Club called The Leftovers the 3rd best show of 2017 and Watchmen the 2nd best show of 2019. But I guess they forgot who created those.
Throwing around “LOST” and not bothering to mention “The Leftovers” or “Watchmen” is rich.
“I got yer diplomacy...right here, pal!”

Last Jedi had it’s issues. I wasn’t wild about the Casino side-trip or really anything about Benicio del Toro’s role, but it was still, by far, the best, most artistically accomplished film of the sequel trilogy. Johnson swung big and made a big, beautiful, imperfect film.
Man, good luck trying to explain the concept of “being diplomatic” to Milligna.
Or, hear me out, a director can want to do more than one thing at a time and making deals and making films with multiple studios is just what successful people do.
The trilogy “wasn’t trying” to tell any kind of story in Force Awakens other than a derivative story that hewed as close to ANH as possible. Even the writers/director admitted they weren’t thinking of any kind of plan beyond that one movie and had no clue how the rest of the trilogy was going to play out.
Or, hear me out: sometimes you have to be diplomatic.
