I’m doing that all the time. Jot things down then transfer them to the outline, stitch it together when you get time.

At the moment I’m saying to myself that line from “Star Wars” during the attack on the Death Star: “Stay on Target”. And imagining I’ve got Darth Vader chasing me in his tie fighter.

One way to kick things off is to start with a sort of “Teacher and Pupil” situation. These characters are basically sock puppets for the writer and reader respectively. The pupil will ask dumb questions and the teacher answers them. They don’t literally have to be a teacher and pupil, they can be someone enthusiastic
