Um, I think you need to take your meds.

Pictured, the doctor writing the exemption:

Basically they can’t determine what causes the disease the kid had so father assumed vaccines.

There is a microscopic chance that a person can have a bad reaction to a vaccine, although it tends to have more to do with unknowable genetic factors on the patient’s end than anything wrong with vaccines per se. So yes, there is about a .01% chance the vaccine paralyzed that kid, and about a 99.99% chance that dad

It was luck no one died, yet. Measles can come back and eat your brain.

Ok so... much like Otto, my dad was also vaccine-injured. My dad contracted polio from the polio vaccine, and narrowly escaped paralysis or death. It took a decade for him to recover his weight, and it was nothing short of miraculous.

i agree, though its true that some people have had really bad reactions to vaccines though its very rare.

So the other day I had REGULAR stuffed oreos and honestly it was like eating bark. My law will simultaneously require that all oreos be at least double stuffed, with tax breaks for those who make triple and quadruple stuffed.

I mean, if people don’t want to vaccinate their kids, they don’t have to - this bill isn’t requiring compulsory vaccinations. You can still choose not to vaccinate your children so long as you home school them and keep them out of daycare, right? Seems fair to me. I would guess that many courts would view preventing

wow Anna why is gawker so biased in favor of facts and science and medical research

I guess he’s never thought of the fact that we are DIAGNOSING various ailments much more specifically these days. In the old days, someone with, say, chronic fatigue syndrome might have been diagnosed with anything from the fantods to a flux of humour.

It’s what I always think re: home births. Gosh, to be so privileged as to have the ability and means to have a baby in a hospital, but choose not too. “Ladies have babies in fields all over the world!!” Yeah, and most of them would LOVE to not have to.

Increased anecdotal evidence

Too right. Half of them were “Oh yeah, I remember they once did something” and the other half are “Who?”

Someone needs to punished! Let's blame teachers. They're always good for taking the fall.

The disparity really is incredible. People in other countries walking an entire day without shoes to get to a clinic for a vaccination vs. these rich celebrities who are so priviledged they can afford to eschew them.

If there was documented evidence (which there isn’t and never will be) saying that the polio vaccine would increase the chances for allergies or ADD in children (which it doesn’t) I would still be first in line to have my daughter vaccinated. Because you know what’s worse than allergies or ADD? POLIO!

These people aren’t anti-vaccination, they are just pro-dead children.

I’m sure Charlie Sheen would be more supportive of vaccines if you could snort them.....

So nobody really worth caring about, nice!
