I appreciate many of the points made in the article and in the commentary, but I really appreciate kids movies that are set in a fantasy world or non-technologically advanced periods. I don’t know why, but seeing a kids movie with cell phones, or computers, or what have you just sort of... makes it less nostalgic?

The proportions, though, oh lord...

This is one of the great things about science —- most people can identify with eating to stay awake, or with getting hunger pangs at 11 p.m., but none of us would know the physiology behind why unless we study it.

I make a kickass cornmeal “waffle” with jalepeno and cheddar cheese ... so good!

Yeah, it’s pretty vague article.

I’ve never actually been to an Aldi’s, but I hear their chocolate is amazing!

I feel like that is really disingenuous, and would likely get you into major trouble if the other country caught you. Because what other excuse would you have, other than trying to hide your travel?

I knew they sent you the old one back, and I figured it just went into lots of folks’ scrapbooks, so it is really neat to know that it works for other things, too. I could imagine the voided passport being useful if you do lose your other one while traveling; at least you have some form of identification when you show

My friends know not to take me to Cracker Barrel for brunch because everyone knows you can’t eat crappy breakfast foods without a beer.

If it’s good enough for Anthony Bourdain, it’s good enough for me.

Also, yeah, dirty vegetarian and all that crap, they have zero choices without meat. I mean, really. Also, their meat and seafood is pretty atrocious. Them biscuits pretty good though

Essentially, you have to fill out the renewal form and send it in with a note explaining why you want a duplicate passport. The downside is you have to send in your current passport with the renewal form, and you won’t know until you receive your package from the State Department whether your request has been approved.

You guys mentioned Sworkit the other day as a free app for exercising. I gave it a whirl, and I really liked it. Yeah, it’s not as robust as you might get with a paid app, and it still requires actual, ya know, motivation, but it’s a pretty intuitive, streamlined way to get a workout in!

Also, isn’t ScarJo’s character a robot-cyborg type thing? So, technically not confined to human-based ethnicities? Don’t get me wrong, I think there are a lot of really important points to be made about casting, but I don’t think this particular one is worth getting riled up about.

I strongly suspect that they use an algorithm, like the one mentioned regarding purchasing decisions, and maximize the costs for the most “stable” clients.

The person above who mentioned looking based on your local airport might have hit on why I have trouble with this: I fly out of a tiny regional airport. It could be that staff there are less well trained (hence having to fight for a free bag), and fewer daily flights could reduce the available awards-based flights.

This a great resource, but I have found that airline flyer programs are more work than their worth. I’ve been an AA member for years, and never been able to redeem a flight. And even though I’m supposed to get a free checked bag, I have to argue with the airline every. time. I fly in order to get that free checked bag.

Petition to designate an official US Governor uniform. Acceptable designs include just a bald eagle attached to the nethers.

Ironically, she is complaining about cultural representation in politics, then deciding that a person’s politics can negate their cultural heritage.
