I’m going to go with both with an added dash of “willful”. Dude is 39.
Two days ago I impressed the 8-year old daughter of a colleague with the fact that I was going to have sugar cereal AND pizza for dinner and that sometimes I get up in the middle of the night to eat cookies.
There should be a t-shirt that reads: I’ve disabled comments.
This is an AWESOME idea! Thank you!
I have thought about it but I think that being at the front of the classroom in a philosophy class might make the discipline that much more welcoming for other newer and braver minds—this makes the challenge it will be to get at to the front of the classroom worth it. :)
Same.
“we do not condone the creation of intellectual “safe spaces” where individuals can retreat from ideas and perspectives at odds with their own.”
I’ll have to pay more attention to specific bus lines. I rarely use them because of the space issue and also because for where I live in central Brooklyn, it is faster to commute into Manhattan via subway (and lately even *that* has been no peach).
I am one of those people.
Agreed.
Agreed.
True but it is the VERY end of admissions. Most classes are selected/in place by March or April. (And—at least at the school where I work—admin staff, which usually includes Admissions, is running on a skeleton crew because of summer break.)
I work at an independent school in NYC and have found that often the decision not to take the child (or children) of celebrities is more about the paparazzi (and looky-loos) frenzy that comes along with everything.
I’m rather enjoying The Atlantic’s pseudo-livefeed.
Right? That’s exactly what I thought when I read this. The idea that they’re possibly looking to UnReal for plot lines warms my dead little heart.
I’m so glad this came back up on my feed today. Thank you for this post.
I’ve absolutely had/have this experience.
I feel you. I am so bummed about it. I just kept saying, “But we’ve been through this before, she’ll be back.”
It’s not so much that they suck really, it’s that they are dreadfully boring. If they sucked there’d at least be something in them for me to properly dislike. These are too limp to even get mad about.
