Toward the end, my favourite thing to do was to weigh myself before and after I washed my hair.

I knew something had to change when I was winded from washing my hair, or when I had to sit down in the shower to wash it, or when I'd get my locks caught under me as I slept and then wake up unable to lift my head unless I rolled to the side first.

I hear you. I had locks for 13 years and they were so heavy, beautiful but soso heavy.
