I think that if you’re not as pissed off as your mother, then you’re probably fucking up. And where your mother said “There’s still so much more to fight for,” she might also have said “You will get to fight the same battle we fought against the same bastards we defeated if you don’t want to see all our gains…

I’m 56 and cannot understand why younger generations AREN’T as angry. Give it time. It grinds you down - even with the battles won, the shit is still there.

Three thoughts:

I will never understand how feminists can *not* be angry. This anger that permeates feminism is absolutely justified, and since women are currently losing ground and gains are being unmade, I would expect the least we can do is understand why. At which point does being a second-class citizen become something we should…

Yeah, he’s a pile of garbage. Agreed. I just know that in abusive relationships I have seen, it went both ways, though not in equal measure. It was just dysfunctional all around.

This is just what linguists do. I don’t think he was being judgy, just observing. There aren’t many other things for us to do if we’re not fluent in coding languages. (My degree is useless :( )

Any chance of updating this post to include Christine Ahn, the WOC who is the lead coordinator for this project? She’s the other woman in the lead image here, she is prominently featured in the Guardian article quoted here, but she is not actually named anywhere in this piece.

I'm not a big fan of Madonna's music, but I have recently become a huge fan of Madonna herself. She is one of the original truly self-directed women out there, and has set a precedent for lots of others, in that she has always been the subject of very harsh criticism and gives zero fucks about it.
