Dang, good thing F1 never does anything like this.

I love big stupid muscle cars so 1974 would be a dream. I’ve have so much fun. I’d grow a mullet, cut the sleeves off all my t-shirts, and crank up the Van Halen cassette behind the wheel of my Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SD-455. I'd be the worst meathead you'd ever meet.
Someone is always going to complain about something.
No car is ever going to be perfect. Someone is always going to complain about something. I’m just happy this thing exists, coupe + RWD +manual, rare breed these are nowadays.
$30,000 is very overpriced. And I absolutely love this platform, but if the 400Z entry price rumors are true, especially with an LSD, then this is shaping up for very dismal sales.
“I’m sorry, but your Ferrari’s policy specifically excludes damage that happens on a track.”
I don’t think transfer stages are really a concern as long as charging is allowed during them.
1st place he gets a car
Aww dang it, that’s awful news, so sorry to hear it. I’m not even a super-collector but even I know Ryu Asada’s work in Hot Wheels was incredibly prolific, to this day I’m still picking up new models he designed that are a delightful blend of whimsy and excitement, it’s sad to think some day soon there will be no more…
Damn, I used to work at Mattel and saw him from time to time. Sadness 😔
Goddamn. Even many casual collectors who don’t know all the designers have heard of Ryu. Dude was an absolute legend. I know a bunch of people were tired of Hot Wheels because they were stuck in a rut with muscle cars. The big push in recent years to do Japanese cars—JDM weirdness in particular—brought a lot of…
I’ve collected Matchbox and Hot Wheels all of my life but I’m ashamed to say I never knew of his work until now. Or, should I say, I guess I knew his work but never knew his name and what he was responsible for.
Assuming he wasn’t just a designer and actually had power deciding what cars were turning into casting then holy shit I do not envy Mattel right now. Hotwheels and Matchbox have gotten better and better every year and if it’s due to Ryu then finding a replacement on his level will not be easy.
I always thought people rolled coal because they were very insecure about their balls.
Rolling coal = manliness? Think we found a contender for “smallest penis” award.
