Nostalgia trip: Used to watch SpeedTV’s WRC coverage religiously in the 2000s with Burns, Makinen, Gronholm, Loeb and my all time favorite Solberg. Best coverage of WRC, 1 hour of curated highlight coverage each day of the weekend. Muah. Now I need to go find some old footage.

Maybe I’m being cynical.

When Robby Gordon put together his spec buy-in series, he at least had the wherewithal to make the vehicles (Stadium Super Trucks) look really cool and like a “finished” race vehicle.

The tracks are low-speed, the races are short, and as a result the cars are kind of inconsequential to the whole thing. They only really need to be accommodating for the racers who have let their midsection expand since retiring, and forgiving to drive for the ones ready for bed at 7:30 pm.”

I’d argue this is far worse.

This is the most disgusting abuse of a flag that I see regularly in the Olympics. Draping the flag (a real flag, not a red, white and blue image) on gross, sweaty shoulders is profoundly disrespectful and needs to stop.”

But how do I show the police they are worth more than the average citizen if I don't desecrate the flag?

It seems that at this point some people would rather default to being butthurt than do any critical thinking or research. I wonder how many of the people who thought this might be a slight against America or the flag own apparel or bumper stickers that DO in fact infract upon the flag code?

A few cars ahead there was another, less dramatic collision, and car stationary in the runoff area

The term “schtick” implies some kind of performance. This is not that, it’s a passion that has existed since I was a child (a passion so strong it drove me to study engineering, move to Detroit, and work for Jeep).

I’m just buying whatever vehicle I want to buy (remember, I have to pay for these machines with my own

there’s a yellow one in my area I see monthly that I always point out to my less-than-enthused wife. the second I can afford to get outta my shitty 800sqft loft and into a place with a driveway or garage, this bizarro turd is gonna be mine... preferably with that crazy red-orange interior

This is the rear end of the BMW i8. It looks like the i8 is giving birth to a silver Porsche 997.

I’m partial to these, I just saw Tom Cruise driving one in the beginning of Rain Man.

I hope this doesn’t give the ACO the fuel it needs to take their ball and screw over & run away from IMSA again(again). This is awesome news, but I’m wary.

Around the 2000's time frame I saw an IMSA race at Road Atlanta and watched Ferrari 333SP lapping from the stands in turn 1, which is a right hand climbing turn slightly back to the left. That meant I got to hear the absolutely glorious music of that V12 in full song. It was magical.

I guess they did technically at one point right? But not the modern hybrids.

You’re not going to hold anyone’s interest if it takes almost 12 hours to complete an event.

^ Shut down US-58 between Martinsville and Hillsville and make it one bitchin’ road course race. :D

I haven’t been to many NASCAR races in person, but the ones I have been to are filled up on the infield on race day. It’s a lot of car trailers, semis, team buses, support trucks, etc.

Isn’t the Daytona road course usually packed with spectator campers under normal circumstances?
