For day to day use, I can see the EV working out with at home charging. Not much public charging, yet.

That is why I look to my needs. I did 2 or 3 road trips a year in the before times, with one or 2 quick stops (under 30 minutes fuel, bathroom, food). That is where ICE currently wins.

For me Tesla is not an option for many reasons.

The build question. I ran into something similar. What I found out if that certain pieces of the higher trim or options as dealer add ons.

That is my thought. With remote/WFH so easy now, why risk it?

Never actually snowed in. Decided it was not worth going out due to weather a few times. I could have in an emergency.

Brown, manual, wagonish - Is this the ultimate Jalopnik car? Based on the general theme in the comments it could be.

Usually a cheapish Porsche is a run away moment. This one would make me pause a bit. Have a shop inspect it, know what I am getting into and go from there.

Impala.

Technically I stay at Garden City Beach/Murrells Inlet. Go to MB for the fun, then a couple miles out of town to relax :)

Good point. I go to Myrtle Beach often and salt spray is an issue.

The advantage of the southern states is rust is typically not an issue. I found two possible options. Either side of the oddity scale.

Now you tell me. :) I was wondering why all the pretty colors and internal pain.

Using a can of coke to remove build up from a battery. I still drink the stuff.

I found out the answer was no. Also changing the battery in that weather without a garage sucks.

Bonkers, impractical, a fiery death waiting to happen, fun, stupid. NP as my lizard brain goes “Woo-hoo” while my rational side drinks itself into sedation.

Can I get in Brown and Manual? :)

I think the solution should be More Power! Either get across or crash faster, problem kinda solved.

While not a no, I am going for a WFH/Office combination. My work has said “WFH is playtime.” After a year we are saying, we seem to be very productive and can schedule a few days in the office as needed (labs, face to face time, etc). Just not 5 days as week.

Like all things. If done well, sure. Another way to access functions via muscle memory.
