For my dad, it is a tie between a 1955 Chevy and a 1969 Impala.

It moves under it’s own power for under 2K? Sure. Looks like a good “when I get to it” type project while still being driveable.
Oddball car, some “mods”, nothing tragic.
There was one of those for sale near me. While the cost of ownership is high, I always liked that car. Granted I would have a full time mechanic to chase after every issue it had.
I was all set until the Salvage title. That is an issue I want more details on. For a personal use vehicle, salvage can be a way to save of few bucks or if you like rebuilding a car.
My god, these are still on the road? For the time, it was an ok car. Would it be a laugh to cruise around in one for a summer or so, yeah. $8500, nope hence CP.
Never is a bit of generalization like others have said. I reviewed the pump vs prepay price and found that the rental was cheaper for the pre-pay. Since this was a work rental, I put it through as I used pretty much a full tank.
I have driven both and can confirm those as facts. If 99.99% of the drivers don’t follow that, well that is on them :)
BMWs have working blinkers, they are just not used:
The price is right and it is not a bro-project-giveup offering. While I found Saturn’s unexciting, they were the Beige of the car world. They did their job and nothing else.
On the other hand I like the rumble of the V8. Or like people used to say “no replacement for displacement” :)
I have not other 220V lines in the house. The question was “how do you dry your clothes with out a 220V line”.
I am not discounting totally, just right now. I have two paid for vehicles that have 2 years easily left in them. When I get to a point that I am looking to replace, then the EV discussion will be had. I do not currently have an EV or Hybrid, just plain old ICE.
Good points and what I am presenting in personal choice/current situation. I do not have any outside facing plugs or a garage. To charge I am opening a window and running a cord. Not a good idea from an insulation point of view.
Typically 30,000+ mi per year once commute, vacations, driving for general use are factored in.
And if I had an electric drier, sure. Gas dryer here.
I have a gas dryer that uses a 120v to run the buttons/timer. Also my house was build over 50 years ago and doesn’t even have the outside 120v outlet. I plan to upgrade the electrical but is behind many other upgrades/fixes. Since I am not made out of money, choices are made.
“What Would It Take You To Buy A Fully-Electric Car?”
I was thinking the same thing.
