I honestly didn't realize what a big deal my engagement would be to other people (especially those I didn't know well) until I got engaged. It's weird and very messed up.

I have a silver band because I didn't want a diamond *steps around high horse* and I never wear the thing anyway (I may have lost it a few months ago). The fiance also has a silver band (He wears it and I feel like a dick). The first thing people ask when they find out you're engaged is to see the ring.

I've helped develop a start up. I designed the entire web-based service. I'm now being told I can't be on the board because as a 26 year old woman, I'd cause investors to balk.

Love Tracee Ellis Ross, partly because she's my photo-face soulmate. She's always so gorgeous but photographers always seem to manage to capture a candid moment mid-laugh or mid-speech, and those animated moments often don't translate well in a static photo.

...and things seem to have worked out! There was some initial unpleasantness, but I replied with my perspective and told her I understood hers, and then this morning she sent a long, thoughtful note back. I think she was mistaking me for someone else who was a friend of his toward the end of their relationship.

ohhhhh my god Jezzies I just fucked up so hard by sending a facebook message to my fiance's ex about how I don't get why she doesn't like me after meeting me once for 30 seconds and can we try this again.
