Why showing affection to the hubby must involve to have sex?

Did you know that the number one cause is rape is rapists, i.e. individuals who believe they have a right to another person without consent?

Or what one of my ex’s would do:

These narratives are so resigned to rape culture. There will always be SOME person who is easier to take advantage of. Maybe because she’s drunk, or alone, or disabled, or a child. Rapists are looking for easy prey. Don’t just tell me “make sure you’re not the most easily victimized!” Someone else will be vicrimized…

If you speak to most women we already have elaborate systems for precaution that most of our guy friends aren't even aware of. I'm not saying no-one should ever take precautions. I'm saying that blaming women when those precautions don't work gets us nowhere.

And don’t forget men can be raped too.

I’ve rarely ever been so drunk while out I felt too impaired to make choices. The two times I was, I was with my now-husband and no one had sex those nights. The time I was assaulted by a friend, we were both stone cold sober. The times a partner raped me, I was also sober. So was he.

Alcohol doesn’t make people rape…

But getting drunk doesn’t put us at more risk of being raped. The only thing that increases our risk of being raped is crossing paths with a rapist.

To be fair to her, it depends. Was that victim of anther crime a woman?

If you got so drunk that a mugger noticed and decided to take advantage of that, a lawyer wouldn’t attempt to use your drunkenness to get the mugger off charges.

One reason we get so annoyed about this is because we can follow all these dumb rules and still get raped. I’ve got friends who’ve been raped drunk. I’ve got friends who’ve been raped sober. I’ve got friends who’ve been raped by strangers. I’ve got friends who’ve been raped by friends. People want to set up all these…

Obviously getting helplessly drunk is unsafe for anyone, though often understandable - many people, especially young newer drinkers, do not know their own tolerances. But yes, it’s dangerous, including in and of itself.
