When I was in first grade there was a whole “boys vs. girls” thing going on in our big Saturday night Bible study group. I remember some of the boys got some mud and mixed it with water and almost convinced the girls to drink the “chocolate milk” before one of the boys finally spoke up.

The problem is that people somehow worship astrophysicists, by virtue of their field, as experts about everything, even if they’re blatantly wrong.

I saw it as a parody of typical magical girl animation sequences, except she’s just a normal (obsessed, reclusive, wealthy) adult woman. Plus an excuse to show off pretty animation, and eat up screen time.
