Yeah this sort of thing just seems so wasteful. All the planning, time, and resources that went into making this nice vehicle and then someone just smashes it on purpose, repeatedly. Some sort of thing with the WhistlinDiesel channel, I can’t watch all the pointless destruction.

ND, I don’t want to be spending my time in a GM parts bin and it just looks shabby. I don’t like 1990s and 2000s GM interiors.

NP assuming it passes a prepurchase inspection. Lexus V8, no roof, would be a great sunny day cruiser and stoplight warrior.

Mild ND, my mom had a car with the 3.1 engine and it was good power and good fuel economy. But it’s a PA car so gotta look for rust, I don’t like this body style very much, and the rollbar in particular makes it ND.

If I’m not in a hurry I start the vehicle and wait until the fast idle goes to slow idle, then I drive normally until the engine temperature gauge rises. If I’m in a hurry I just go and drive a little more slowly at first.

3rd gear: I really wish we could figure out this airbag thing. It’s been 30+ years now. I always thought they were at best a blunt instrument, causing a lot of harm in small incidents in exchange for saving lives in bad collisions.

I have no vote on this, but these things always seem like they would be a maintenance nightmare; it’s like you have to take care of a house and a vehicle all in one.

1st gear: A 200% tariff would add a lot more than a few thousand bucks to a car price, it would be tens of thousands. Basically it would make it infeasible to import cars from that country.

So many reasons not to fly, here is another.

I have mixed feelings about this.  It would certainly help with a lot of the crazy drivers on the road.  But when the system kicked in for me I would not appreciate that at all.

I did the “forgot the oil cap” thing on my friend’s car when I did an oil change. Luckily we quickly realized it from the smoke coming from under the hood, but it really made a big mess in the engine compartment.

ND, I drove a friend’s 1980s Jetta Diesel and there was no joy in that car. You drove it with the gas pedal to the floor the whole time. This 1976 VW diesel has got to be worse.

If recent history of basically everything stays consistent then nothing will happen to him.  Tesla will continue to make cars, Musk will keep spewing out BS, and may or may not get some sort of slap on the wrist for his recent schemes.

In 2016 the Democratic candidate was widely disliked by both parties. Not so much the case with Harris, and in the meantime Roe v. Wade was overturned. Different political climate different result, I hope.

That is super cool, I think I could squeeze that into a day trip .

Just remember, any time you see the word “tariff” that is extra money YOU as the consumer are going to pay for that product, if you can even get the product at all.

I think a lot of the problem is that people’s incomes have not risen with inflation.   Also car manufacturers keep making the models more and more complex, we could probably have cheaper models if they weren’t so big and full of tech.

Him controlling all that is even more reason to enforce the laws on him.

Yep if we still live in a country with a functional and equal justice system for all, prosecute him like anyone else.

Cautious NP, this thing would be a great boulevard or highway cruiser and the price is reasonable if the vehicle is in good condition. That said, I was looking at another 70s barge only about 10" shorter and concluded it really wouldn’t fit in my garage very well, maybe if I took some shelves out and rearranged stuff,
