Not sure about the RS1800 (BDA)as I’ve never had the pleasure of working on one, but the RS2000 (2.0 SOHC) was fitted with a 4-speed Type E gearbox, often swapped with the 5-speed Type 9 from the Sierra, which is a direct swap. A lot of guys put in Zetecs, Duratecs or YBs though, so I suppose any gearbox that fits
