It is really easy to find fault in any study. However, what is hard is to challenge your own opinion with the knowledge that a study, containing over 1500 participants, found a relationship between aggressive behaviour before and after playing violent games while controlling for previous aggressive behaviour. Remember…
In my home town, also in Canada, gamers can rent the local imax. To be clear, the imax is not an imax theatre that plays regular movies but, instead, a single screen the length of three school buses. Motion sickness for all.
@sisedi: I am left wondering if you read the words written on the page or are content with forming an opinion and finding a single word in a sentence with which you can start your diatribe. I said the system is not perfect but that we should strive to make it so. Others were saying that this is a justification for…
@Silverwolf: I agree that prisoners should be used as a labour force. This makes some sort of reparation to society and would help pay for their "free room and board" that many people are opposed to.
@KillerBee: Valuing life is not self-righteous and devaluing it is not being realistic. If you think that prison is not punishment, go and visit one. You may change your mind.

The answer must be found through public effort to reform our correction centers so they are not these bastions of recidivism. Just because we would like to kill people for the injustices they commit against us does not make it…
@PrimetimeFool: Fun fact. An eye for an eye is a mistranslation. The true expression is lex talionis (this is latin and I guessed on the spelling), the rule of the claw. The expression actually refers to the notion that no punishment can exceed the offense. This allows for and eye for an eye but does not promote it.…
@sisedi: If you were asking me what my suggestion is then perhaps you should read the first sentence of the post. The person should never leave prison again. It is not perfect but this imperfection does provide justification for killing. Instead, we should strive to enact change in our legal systems.
I never stated that the death sentence goes against religion. I stated that my belief was not based in religion. You can find religious support and opposition to the death penalty. @Pata-pwn(TM?):
The man should never step outside of a jail again. However, I am surprised by the ease with which both the writer and the commentators dole out death to a human being. Removing life from the criminal does not restore the lives of the victims and it does not serve justice. This opinion is not based on religious beliefs…
