There's little to no difference, but depending on when that beer was actually brewed, the one that is 6 months old will often taste better if it's a big beer like a double IPA.
The bigger the beer (i.e; the more alcohol and hops), the longer it needs to age to reach optimal drinkability. Typically 6 months. I don't know how long a lot of these beers are aged before they go to market, but it's not completely correct to say that IPA's degrade quickly, or something like that. Yes, if you…
