I get what you’re saying. I’ve got nothing but respect for people that want to bike rather than drive, but I think they are crazy considering that most drivers are a bunch of hostile, distracted assholes.
I’m big on inline distance skating and I avoid messing with cars at all costs. I’ll never go top speed unless I’m on a track, dedicated path, or a stretch where I’ve checked all horizons and can commit. I didn’t get to my decades of experience by expecting cars to respect my space.
Small world. I also live in Pgh and see those same Route 8 cyclists. With a curb, there’s no where for them to go to get out of the way...and on bends cars don’t see them until it’s nearly too late. I’m a cyclist myself, but to your point, I don’t care what my “right” is...I care about my life more than proving my…
In most cases, it’s the lesser of two evils.
We have to do it because we’re not allowed to ride on walking paths (or exceed 30 km/hr speed limits) in the cities. If you want to get in a serious ride (50+km) you have no choice but to hit the highways. Hopefully you can find somewhere with decent sized shoulders. It can be scary as sh*t thou.
Who the fuck do you think you are? Johnny Utah?
Yeah if I was a serious biker I would probably only train on legit bike paths. The downside is that they still cross the road occasionally (but there are road intersections anyways so that’s moot) and they are few and far between. The good news is that most places that have them are fairly nice and scenic.
Eat an asshole. All I was saying is cyclists risk their lives by riding on streets where cars fly by. I don’t understand it, but it’s their right and they choose to do it.
I never quite understood why bicyclists risk their lives by riding on the roadways of busy streets. I get it, it’s your right, but knowing how drivers are, why risk it? I used to see cyclists on Route 8 in Pittsburgh where cars were zooming by at 65mph. Dumb. For him, it’s gotta be even worse. The roads in Italy…
Seconded.
Here is a sneak peak of JPP in a Bucs jersey:
You can tell him on the golf course in like 2 weeks.
I can’t argue with you there. If there’s one (and only one) thing that Ovechkin can win, it’s the division.
He should have been Incognito.
Fittipaldi Slattery has a nice ring to it. Solid work.
The same could be said about a number of hobbies and occupations. What about downhill skiing? What about auto racing? What about being in the military? What about crab fishermen? This is a dumb argument. Life is full of risks. Wrap yourself in bubblewrap and stay inside, but this was a man who lived his life the way…
“Neither climber brought a satellite phone or an emergency beacon”
I’ve been watching it for 38 minutes on a loop and I haven’t blinked yet. I’m dictating this to my son so he can write it for me so I don’t avert my eyes from the glory. Pray for me, 6th. Pray for me.
This is a good take. Fuck all you people that can’t handle a fucking phone call. I’ve got info to pass on and shit to do. I’m not texting back and forth
