I wouldn’t take this too seriously. The overall conclusion had some merit, in that the difference in lifetime income makes education a good investment, but a lot of this stuff was questionable at best.
Um, no, they’re not. As a matter of fact, “For Profit” educational institutions are mostly scams. When they are called out and forced to stop taking advantage of needy and desperate students, they start to act more and more like government-supported public institutions.
Number 2 could be called “Cavil’s Lament” as well.
Except, that Cavil’s Lament was penned by writers for a TV show, so it’s pretty certain that it comes from the Inverted Spectrum Problem or the Knowledge Argument, and not the other way around?
